Marvelous Mary Jo Matsumoto Handbags

Exciting news, darlings! Fashion designer Mary Jo Matsumoto, known for her unique and whimsical evening and bridal bags, has launched her first day bag line, offering on-trend colors and consummate craftsmanship with a relaxed feel inspired by life along the Pacific Coast Highway. Priced well under $1,000, the bags speak to a need in the marketplace for a quality luxury bag offered in more relevant high fashion colors with a hip and modern take on classic shapes.
For over a decade, Mary Jo Matsumoto designed evening bags that were sold at over 300 stores worldwide including Bergdorf Goodman, Takashimaya, and Neiman Marcus. The bags were worn to the Oscars, appeared on Oprah and were featured in magazines such as In Style and Cosmopolitan.
In her personal life, Mary Jo was always seeking a stylish every day bag that had a high fashion appeal but would fit into the more laid back lifestyle of Southern California. Feeling that there were only two basic options on the market—either an extremely structured city bag that felt too formal/stuffy for life on the go, or a completely unstructured boho bag offered in drab earth tones—Mary Jo decided to design her own line of day bags for women like herself, who were seeking high fashion with a slightly relaxed feel and a bit of fun.
Another consideration for the line was price. What woman doesn’t lust for the latest Chanel or Celine bag, and yet spending thousands of dollars for a designer bag isn’t always a practical consideration. In the mid-range price between Chanel and H&M, the options often feel safe: black, brown, or tan. The Mary Jo Matsumoto line offers high fashion on-trend colors with the highest level of craftsmanship, something that is hard to come by in this price range.

Designer Spotlight: Ulyana Sergeenko

Darlings, CC is so excited to introduce you to Designer Ulyana Sergeenko.
Here are some looks from her Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Collection.

Here's a bit about the Designer:

Although Ulyana Sergeenko has a degree in philology she was always

interested in fashion paying close attention to her appearance and style.

Indulging her interest in design throughout the years she has developed

a vast collection of haute couture, vintage and antique clothes admiring

quality, craftsmanship and artistic value. Initially her love for all things fashion

lead her to the photography as a perfect media for expressing her artistic

vision. From this point she started to be not only an admirer but participant

of fashion process taking an active part in the creation of fashion images as

a photographer and stylist. Though Ulyana loves and appreciates works of

many designers she always wanted to create something that would be an

essence of her personal style. Eventually all this lead to the creation of her

debut collection that she presented in Moscow in April 2011. Consisting of

34 looks this collection has all the signature elements of Ulyana's style: floor-

length chiffon gowns, astrakhan fur coats, rose-printed full skirts and hilarious

puffed shoes. Actually a lot of the clothes in which Ulyana has been captured

for the various magazines and streetstyle blogs are from her first collection.

The collection was featured in a lot of Russian magazines such as Vogue,

Harpers Bazaar, L'Officiel, Tatler, Glamour etc. As for the inspirations - it

could be anything from a film by Visconti or Fellini to a Soviet school uniform,

from old cartoons to patriotic mosaics on the walls of Moscow underground

stations or antique French wooden screens painted in flowers, etc.
Merry Christmas to all!

CC Loves... Amy Matto Dresses!

Darlings, CC is absolutely smitten with the chic and fabulous dresses by New York Designer Amy Matto. Matto launched her own contemporary women’s dress collection in the fall of 2009 from the living room of her New York City apartment. Without formal fashion training, Matto taught herself everything about the business by exploring the Garment District, following deliverymen and talking to anyone who would stop. She also found the best collaborators in the business, including a talented pattern maker and a factory with exceptional craftsmanship.
Matto’s idea for the brand grew out of a reaction to the often flashy, over-styled designs she saw in stores as well as the industry trend of outsourcing to China. She aimed to make her dresses sensual yet classic and appropriate, with understated elegance and timeless silhouettes. She is proud that her brand supports the local garment industry, a vibrant part of New York City’s historical landscape. Amy Matto's dresses fit and flatter the female body. They are both comfortable and beautifully constructed. CC can attest because she owns this lovely Uma jersey dress. The print is sheer perfection!
