Selena Gomez won't attend AMAs to avoid Bieber

Selena Gomez will not be attending the American Music Awards because she doesn't want to see her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber who is performing on the show.

Selena Gomez will not be attending the American Music Awards because her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber is performing.

Justin is set to perform at the ceremony on Sunday (18.11.12), and Selena is not going to make an appearance at the prestigious event in Los Angeles because the pain of their recent split is just too fresh.

A representative told Hollyscoop.com: ''Selena has never been confirmed to be at the show.''

She is also not nominated for any prizes at the ceremony, unlike Justin who is up for three awards, including the highly coveted Artist of the Year accolade.

Selena and Justin were believed to have held crisis talks last weekend to discuss where their relationship was going after their split was confirmed last week.

A source said: ''I saw Selena go into the hotel around 5:40 pm and not even three hours later, Justin went in. I saw him leave around 11 pm.

''It's not just over for Justin and Selena, whatever happens they have a lot to talk about.

''They're both being a bit cagey and stubborn but they're desperate to see one another. This isn't new for them; they often have a tumultuous relationship. We all expect them to work it out.''

He's no longer her boyfriend. 

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have ended their relationship, PEOPLE confirms. 

"She broke up with him about a week ago," a source tells PEOPLE. "With them being apart so much it got complicated. She had some trust issues. It's not easy, but the relationship needed to end." 

The actress, 20, and Bieber, 18, officially stepped out as a couple in February 2011 after months of dating quietly. 

The couple fought off breakup rumors in August 2011 and again this past July, but were spotted enjoying a haunted house together on Sept. 30. 

"I don't ever want her to feel like I'm ashamed of her," the pop star tells Oprah Winfrey of his decision to go public with his relationship despite fan backlash, in an interview set to air Nov. 25.

Selena Gomez 'lays down law with Bieber'

Selena Gomez has reportedly threatened to 'jump out and take a taxi' if Justin Bieber ever speeds again.

The two stars have been dating for some time and have found themselves at the center of scrums of paparazzi in the past.

In July, Justin was given a ticket after he was caught speeding down a high way at around 100 mph. At the time he claimed he was trying to get away from photographers, but Selena was reportedly still unhappy about the incident.

'Selena finally told Justin she's fed up and if he goes over the speed limit again, she going to jump out and take a taxi home,' an insider told National Enquirer.

Justin apparently thought the brunette beauty was joking at first, so laughed off her comments. However, she soon made it clear how unhappy she was about the incident.

'He knows when his girlfriend means business,' the source added.

In May, Justin lost a shoe during a scuffle with photographers while on a cinema date with Selena. She was seen calming him down following the altercation

Selena Gomez: ‘I’d be a Mom if I Wasn’t Famous’

SELENA Gomez admits being rich and famous has stopped her from becoming a young mom.

The 20-year-old thinks she would already have two children if she had stayed in her native Texas because of her parents divorce.

“I definitely didn’t appreciate [my upbringing] when I was little. I was frustrated that my parents weren’t together and never saw the light at the end of the tunnel where my mom was working hard to provide a better life for me,” she said.

“I’m terrified of what I would have become if I’d stayed there. I’m sure I’d have two children by now.

“I love the people, and I’m glad I grew up there. It’s because of [my mom] that I can do things on my own.

“I like being professional. I like showing up on time. I like being good to people, and I know that I’m reflecting her at the end of the day.”
