American Idol bust up blamed on Mariah Carey

Nicki Minaj threatened Mariah Carey because her 'American Idol' co-star reportedly called her a bitch.

Show bosses cancelled filming in Charlotte, North Carolina for the day after a huge blow up between the pair where Nicki threatened and swore at Mariah but witnesses insist the 'Hero' hitmaker started it.

A source told Mouthtoears.com: ''Nicki Minaj walked off of set because Mariah Carey kept making jabs at her. Nicki's manager and team convinced her to come back to the show. Mariah kept at it and called Nicki a bitch and then proceeded to cuss her out. Producers had to stop filming and call it a night.''

It was previously revealed Nicki fumed she was sick of her co-star's ''f*****g highness'' and their fellow panelists Keith Urban and Randy Jackson were caught in the middle.

A source told TMZ: ''[Nicki said to Mariah] 'I'm gonna knock you out'.

''Nicki added 'I told them, I'm not f*****g putting up with her f*****g highness over there.''

Producers are now worried about how the pair will manage to work together for the rest of the season.

Before Mariah accepted her BMI ICON Award, which recognized her prolifically successful and influential songwriting career, she received a hot tribute from producer Jermaine Dupri, gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard, R&B crooner Joe rocking “We Belong Together,” Eric Benet, who offered “One Sweet Day,” and "American Idol" alum Fantasia belting out “Hero.”

Mariah Carey Wants Lenny Kravitz On Idol

The 'Fantasy' hitmaker believes her close friend would be a perfect addition to the panel because of his talent and knowledge of the music industry.

A source told HollywoodLife.com: ''Mariah would love to have her dear friend Lenny Kravitz sit next to her on the 'American Idol' judge panel. She thinks he would be the perfect choice because he is extremely talented and knows music inside and out.''

Earlier this week, it was reported that Nicki Minaj is likely to join the judging panel - a move which Mariah is said to be unhappy about because she doesn't want the contest to become a ''freak show''.

The source continued: ''Nicki on the other hand isn't established enough to qualify as a judge.

''Mariah wants a panel of bright, inspirational and constructive judges. Not some freak show! Mariah thinks Nicki will just be a distraction and it will all be about her and her outrageous behavior. Mariah will not be happy if Nicki joins the panel and she has let the producers know just how she feels!''

Meanwhile, L.A. Reid - a judge on The US 'X Factor' - has revealed Mariah signed up for the rival show on his advice.

He said: ''[Mariah and I] had a great conversation about it and I advised her that she should do it. I think it's great for her.''

The 'American Idol' judging panel has yet to be determined following the departures of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. The show's only remaining original judge Randy Jackson is expected to stay with the program but is likely to move to a mentoring role.

A host of stars have been linked with judging roles, including Nick Jonas and Kanye West.

Stepping out for a charity-filled night, Mariah Carey attended the Project Canvas Charity Event hosted by her hubby, Nick Cannon, on Friday (May 11).

The New York City night out had the couple all dressed up as Mariah sported a dark purple mini dress and strappy black heels while Nick looked dapper in a tan suit with bright sneakers to match.

While posing together on the red carpet, the Hollywood lovebirds can be seen showing off a one of a kind pair of sneakers, which is what Project Canvas is all about.

Project CAN Visually Achieve Success gives people a way to design and make their own pair of shoes any way they would like while encouraging individuality and personality.

Per the charity’s website, this idea was “founded upon the principal that within every person lies a wealth of creativity. MARIAH CAREY & NICK CANNON’S VOWS RENEWAL: AN INSIDE LOOK

 In an effort to keep their relationship both romantic and strong, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renewed their marital vows in Paris on Friday night (April 27).

The 42-year-old Grammy-winning singer looked stunning in a white mermaid frock with a black bow wrapped around her waist as her 31-year-old husband of four years donned a white suit as he once again got down on one knee during the intimate affair.

Upon conclusion of the vows renewal ceremony, Mimi and Nick headed out on the town in the French capital city.

As for their destination, the good-looking couple opted for a swanky dinner at the Eiffel Tower's Le Jules Verne restaurant - during which onlookers tell that the pair appeared to be having a "wonderful time".

The trip to Paris comes just after Cannon was honored at the Common Sense Media Awards for his work with various children's charities.

Of the accolade, Nick posted a message on his website, which reads: "t was truly an honor to be recognized during this year's Common Sense Media Awards in San Francisco last night. Common Sense Media is a non-profit organization that's dedicated to helping parents and teachers assist kids with improving their experience with media and technology."

Mariah Carey Takes Twins To Visit Alicia Keys.

Mariah Carey took a break from her busy recording schedule this weekend to visit one of her close musical friends. Joined by her husband Nick Cannon and her rapidly growing young twins, the diva reportedly checked Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz in Los Angeles.


Carey is currently crafting material for her new studio album, which will hit stores later this year, so maybe she has a collaboration with Keys in the works.
